Privacy policy

DittoFox is run by Alex Kay, an individual established in the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. Questions, requests and complaints about your data go to [email protected]. A postal address is available on request.

What you type into a generator

The form is sent to our server to draw the live preview and to make your PDF or PNG, and is thrown away as soon as the answer is sent. We do not save it, put it in our logs or look at it. The document is drawn in an isolated renderer with no network access, so nothing in it can reach anyone else. Because nothing is saved, we cannot recover a document for you: keep your download.

The waitlist

If you join a waitlist, we keep your email address, the generator you joined from and the date. We use it only to tell you when making documents from a spreadsheet is ready, and you can ask us to delete it at any time.

Visits, cookies and limits

DittoFox sets no cookies. We count visits with Trafnova, analytics we run ourselves. It sets no cookies either. It keeps the page and its title, the referring site, screen size, language, browser and device type, and a location (country, region, city) worked out from the IP address. The IP address itself is not stored: visits are counted by a one-way hash of it with the browser, salted afresh every day, so a visitor cannot be followed from one day to the next.

To keep downloads fair, the server counts requests per IP address in memory for one minute. Like any web server, ours logs each request: the time, the IP address, the page (never what you typed into the form) and the browser. These logs are for fixing problems and stopping abuse, and are deleted after 8 days.

Who else handles data

Error reports go to our own error tracker on our own server. We do not sell data or share it with anyone else unless the law requires it.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of what we hold about you (at most a waitlist entry), have it corrected or have it deleted: write to [email protected] from that address. We answer within 30 days. If you are in the EU or the UK, you can also complain to your data protection authority.

Changes

When this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it.
